Online loan
A $500 online loan for a specific expense
An unexpected car repair or a bill coming due can leave a gap in your budget. If $500 covers that gap, you can request that amount with Kredit Canada rather than borrow more than you need.
Kredit Canada lets Canadian residents apply online for loans from $300 to $1,500. For an approved loan with a signed agreement, funds are sent by Interac e-Transfer, typically within about 60 minutes. Timing can vary; submitting an application is not approval.
- Request $500 rather than a larger amount you do not need.
- Repay weekly, every two weeks or monthly, according to your agreement.
- Complete bank verification online, without a traditional credit inquiry.
Submitting an application is not approval or a loan agreement. Your final terms and borrowing cost are disclosed before you sign.

Start with the shortfall, not the whole bill
A $500 loan may be worth considering for a one-time expense when you have room in your budget to repay it. The amount you need to borrow is not necessarily the amount on the invoice.
Before choosing your amount:
Borrowing extra “just in case” adds to what you owe. And if the same shortfall returns every paycheque, another loan may make the next month harder rather than resolve the problem.
- Confirm what is due. For a car repair, use the estimate for the work you need now, rather than adding optional work to the loan.
- Identify what you can already cover. Keep enough aside for rent, groceries, transportation and other essential expenses.
- Check the remaining gap. If it is less than $500, consider a smaller amount. If it is more, check whether you can defer part of the expense before increasing your request.
What to check before requesting $500
Before applying, check that you meet Kredit Canada's published requirements:
Provide accurate, current information. The application process includes a review of your ability to repay; meeting these requirements does not guarantee approval.
Unsure whether your situation fits? Ask Kredit Canada before starting your request.
- Be a Canadian resident aged 18 or older.
- Receive steady income of more than $1,500 per month by direct deposit.
- Have been at your current job for at least six months.
- Have an active Canadian bank account.
- Have valid identification and a recent pay stub ready.
- Have fewer than five insufficient-funds (NSF) transactions in the last 30 days.
What will a $500 loan cost?
The amount borrowed is only part of the decision. Your loan agreement sets out your final terms and cost of borrowing before you sign. Read the full amount to be repaid, not just a weekly or monthly payment.
Check these details together:
Kredit Canada lists weekly, every-two-weeks and monthly repayment frequencies. Your agreement confirms the schedule for your loan. A repayment frequency alone does not tell you how long the loan lasts or its total cost.
Compare the proposed payments with the money left after your essential expenses and existing debts. If a payment would leave you short again, reconsider the amount or another option before signing.
- The amount you will receive and the interest and any fees you will pay.
- The total of all repayments, including the borrowing cost.
- The number of payments, each payment amount, and the first and final due dates.
- The terms that apply if a payment is late or cannot be collected.
From a $500 request to an Interac e-Transfer
For more detail, read how the application process works. Before sharing personal information, review our privacy policy and terms of use.
Complete the online application. Request the amount you need and provide accurate personal and financial information. Check the requested amount before submitting.
Complete bank verification. The process uses bank verification, also called IBV, to verify financial information. Verification is part of the application review, not an approval decision by itself.
Review the agreement if approved. Check the amount, total cost and repayment schedule. Ask about anything unclear before signing online.
Receive the transfer after approval and signing. Funds are sent by Interac e-Transfer, typically within about 60 minutes. This is an estimated funding time after approval and signature, not a guarantee measured from when you start applying.
Is $500 the right amount for you?
Need less? Review our online loan amounts. A smaller request may fit a smaller gap; there is no reason to increase your request simply because more is available within the advertised range.
Need more? Our $1,000 loan page explains what to consider for a larger request. Compare it only if $500 would leave part of a necessary expense uncovered, and check the full repayment commitment before choosing.
Could you avoid borrowing? Ask the bill provider whether a payment arrangement is available, or check a lower-cost option with your bank or credit union. Compare actual costs and due dates rather than assuming a new loan is the best fit. Avoid taking several loans to cover the same expense.
Common questions about a $500 loan
Can I apply with a low credit score?
Kredit Canada does not use a traditional credit inquiry in the application process. A low score does not automatically rule you out, but your current income, banking information and ability to repay are still reviewed. Approval is not automatic.
Do I enter my bank password on this website?
No. The Kredit Canada website does not ask for or store online banking usernames or passwords. Bank verification takes place through the lending platform using a read-only connection. See the privacy policy for details.
Questions before you apply or during repayment?
Contact Kredit Canada through our contact page or email info@kreditcanada.ca with a question or concern. If you expect to miss a payment, get in touch before its due date and review the late-payment terms in your agreement. Ask what applies to your account rather than assuming a payment can be postponed.
